Time flies when you don’t realize that I have been in Las Vegas since September 2013. During my first year living in Las Vegas, it was like the wild wild west for me as everywhere and anything Vegas is an adventure for me. Vegas is completely different from Georgia in my opinion mainly because there are more Asian population here. My absolute go to back then is Chinatown area which is on Spring Mountain Road, west of the Strip. After years of being in Las Vegas, I began to have a list of things that are awesome, fun and FREE. Free as of locals would know it plus we paid tax for it so there is no free lunch in this world.
Unvegas?
What the hell is Unvegas you may ask? It’s basically a play to the word “Vegas” but you “un” the things that you thought you knew about this town. Let me break it down for you. The Vegas you know is probably from the glitz and glamor aerial shots of the Las Vegas Strip along with the Bellagio’s fountain show with a bunch of people smiling and enjoying themselves. That is all real and true but that’s the tourist spots known to people visiting. So Unvegas is to show the other side of “Vegas” or “Sin City” where you can see and do with a lesser price tag. My advice always is to stay on the strip but eat and do off the strip.
But Why?
If I get a penny for every time someone ask me if anyone actually lives in Vegas, I might be rich rich now. People actually believes that locals live underground because it’s hot here during the summer. This myth is probably because most of the people that flies into Vegas is at night and the strip shines the brightest. The why I want to create Unvegas is knowledge should be spread and why the hell not? I have a library of information of this city that I have lived for awhile now plus I hope this would be the one stop shop for people that wants to enjoy Vegas on a budget.
Idea formation.
I was in a User Experience course and one of the course assignment is to create a website/app. Since I didn’t have any earth shattering idea, I went to something that I know but didn’t have any avenue to spread it hence Unvegas.us
